Dewars Centre
Bracewell was appointed by IPME Ltd to provide architectural services for the phased redevelopment of the Dewars Centre in Perth. The project reimagines existing leisure space, beginning with the transformation of a former indoor bowling rink into a fully equipped gym and fitness facility with an adjoining studio for group training and circuit classes.
Our role included developing the internal spatial layout, ensuring efficient circulation and functionality, while placing strong emphasis on accessibility and creating an inviting fitness environment. We also secured Building Warrant approvals and prepared detailed technical tender documentation to support delivery.
Phase One was completed in September 2024, marking the successful opening of the new gym and studio facilities. The next phase will see the refurbishment of outdated toilet and changing areas, continuing the modernisation of the centre. This project highlights the value of adaptive reuse within sports infrastructure and reflects a collaborative design process between client, architect, and specialist consultants.
