Kinellan Housing

Bracewell was appointed by Highland Housing Alliance and The Highland Council to lead the design and delivery of a residential development at Kinellan Drive, Strathpeffer. The project delivers 42 new homes across a mix of social rent, mid-market rent, and homes for sale, carefully arranged to step along the site’s natural contours and integrate with the surrounding rural village character.

The scheme responds to a sensitive landscape setting with adjacent woodland and complex topography, designing streets and homes to minimise visual impact while maximising views and connectivity. The layout reinforces the local street pattern and responds to the character and scale of the village, providing pedestrian links, traffic calming, and provision for electric vehicle charging.

Extensive landscaping and tree protection measures were incorporated to safeguard the site’s environmental assets, while contributions to the community included enhancements to Strathpeffer Community Park and local school infrastructure. The development establishes a sustainable, high-quality residential environment that responds to both its physical and social context.
