Sauchie Masterplan

The Sauchie Masterplan provides up to 1000 new homes in Alloa whilst integrating into the existing context and providing high-quality landscaping alongside a potential future school site, adjacent to the existing housing. The masterplan vision was to establish a welcoming and accessible development which provides a well-defined settlement edge and offers views towards the Ochil Hills and surrounding areas.

As Lead Consultant, Bracewell led the production of the masterplan which supported and utilised the existing topography, retained and enhanced the Core Path connections and provided public open space with informal active travel routes, trim trails and play equipment. The central green creates a key character area and provides a safe route to school for the new and existing homes whilst encouraging walking, wheeling and cycling.

The identity of the new community is formed by the landscape strategy by creating pockets of development, each with a park, access to the wider movement network and a visual connection to the existing tree belt. The residential areas prioritise Designing Streets and the creation of a sense of place and community.
