The Royal Hotel

We worked on transforming the Royal Hotel, rethinking its public areas and adding a new extension to create a more open, inviting experience for guests. The ground floor was reimagined as a flowing, open-plan foyer, restaurant, and bar, connecting previously separate spaces and enhancing the sense of arrival.

A new extension introduced a ground-floor bar and a first-floor garden deck, complete with bi-fold doors, a paved patio, and glazed balustrades, seamlessly linking indoor and outdoor areas. Original features, such as the wall and door between the reading room and lounge, were retained to preserve the hotel’s character while embracing a modern, light-filled layout.

The car park was also reconfigured to improve access, supporting the enhanced guest experience. The project brings together heritage and contemporary design, giving the Royal Hotel a refreshed, welcoming identity while respecting its historic charm.
